Desmond Clarke Papers, . 1726-1954

Desmond Clarke was a librarian of the Royal Dublin Society and biographer of Arthur Dobbs (1868-1765), colonial governor of North Carolina. The collection includes the first draft (typescript) of Clarke's biography of Arthur Dobbs, including appendices and other material omitted from the published version; copies of letters and papers (1726-1765) of Dobbs, collected by Clarke; and Clarke's correspondence, 1951-1954, relating to the book.
